In my experience and observation, medical practitioners will offer a chaperone when (a) the exam requires exposing the “naughty bits” and (b) the professional and patient are different sexes.

I saw my urologist two weeks ago. She asked me if I wanted a chaperone. (I said I didn’t need one.)

If we do not know the name of the father of a child, e.g. a foundling, an illegitimate, etc., then to whom should the bin or the binti of the child's name be applied?
